Ahead of the 2021 World U20 athletics championship in Kenya, the president of Athletics Federation of Nigeria (AFN) Tonobok has said the Nigeria athletes are in high spirit.
The selected athletes departed the country last weekend for the Nairobi, Kenya venue of the championship.
They observed their final training at the stadium on Tuesday ahead of the Wednesday take-off of the competition.
The AFN president while reacting after the team training said the athletes are ready to go further than what they achieved at the just concluded Tokyo games.
“The athletes have worked hard, they are in high spirits. We have a strong contingent who will be competing at World Athletics U20.
We want to see if we can do better than what we did at the Olympics,” he said
