What Man City boss Pep Guardiola admires about Scott Parker’s Fulham

Fulham vs Manchester City

Saturday’s Premier League action draws to a close at 8 PM UK time when Fulham play host to Manchester City.

Man City head into the tie with the Premier League title almost certainly wrapped up.

At present, the Sky Blues boast a 14-point lead over 2nd-place Manchester United, though United do have a game in hand.

Regardless, given City’s recent form, despite a rare blip against the Red Devils, it is hard to see anyone catching them now. They are the top scorers in the league and are also in possession of the best defensive record.

Fulham, meanwhile, have found form over the last few months and are close to exiting the bottom-three.

The Cottagers are down in 18th at present, but are only behind Brighton on goal difference, though the Seagulls do have a game in hand.

Guardiola praises Scott Parker

Ahead of Saturday’s tie, Man City boss Pep Guardiola has been praising Scott Parker’s Fulham.

The Spaniard highlighted Fulham’s willingness to stick with their style of football and play with courage.

Pep went on to state he admires that even when things are not going well, they continue with their brand of football:

“Since day one, Fulham have played incredibly well.

“In English football, there are incredibly good managers… Many of them have the courage to play. What I admire is that when it is not going well they continue to do it and at the end the results come.

“I have the feeling that all the new generation of managers have this quality. All the managers in Germany and Spain, play like they manage Bayern Munich.

“I think all the new generation of managers are saying ‘we’ll do our game rather than wait to see what the opponents do’.”
