English Premier League club Southampton continued its poor run of the season as they suffered a comprehensive 3-0 defeat to Brentford at the Community Stadium on Saturday.
It was a day to forget for lanky Nigeria’s Super Eagles striker Paul Onuachu as he made his debut in the encounter.
Onuachu moved to the Saint Mary’s Stadium on the deadline day of the winter transfer window and the club was able to secure his work permit late on Friday evening.
Ben Mee and Nbeumo put Brentford ahead in the first half of the game before Onuachu was introduced in the 46th minute of the game.
He was able to prove his mettle as provided a constant threat to the backline of the host.
Jensen put the game beyond Sotton with the 3rd goal in the 80th minute and ensured that they remained at the bottom of the table.
