Odegaard’s dream
Martin Odegaard has hit the ground running since arriving at Arsenal and has seen his positive performances culminate in a goal in the North London Derby. The Real Madrid loanee spoke of how it was a dream come true the him to score in such a big game, to help the team and please the fans.
“It was a dream come true today and also it was a big win in the derby so I’m really happy for the team,” he said. “This was for our fans and I hope they are happy with us today,” said Odegaard.
He spoke of the fight back having conceded an unlikely goal having dominated the game.
“[Coming from a goal behind] shows the mentality of the team. Every time we get hit in the face we strike back. It shows the character and the spirit so I’m really happy,” he said.

‘We just have to keep going, each game, play each game as the last and keep fighting. In the end we’ll see but if we play at this level we can reach some good things.”
Odegaard scored in the match with Olympiacos from range and the Gunners face their Greek opponents this Thursday hoping to reach the quarter-finals.
Fans desperate for Odegaard stay
Mikel Arteta was asked about the possibility of keeping Odegaard beyond the end of the current season and said that he will sit down with Real to discuss what will happen next.
“We have Martin for a few months from Real Madrid and first of all we have to maximise this time with him to try to bring to the team all the qualities he has,” the Spaniard said.
“At the end of the season we will sit together and decide where we can take that relationship forward. At the moment it doesn’t just depend on us.”
Whether or not anything does end up occurring at the end of the season, For many Arsenal fans their minds are already made up and in the wake of the victory yesterday the plaudits for the 22-year-old and hope of a permanent solution were frequent.

HT 1-1:
A great first half performance and we deserve to be winning.
Hit the woodwork twice.
Same again and we surely win this – have some fire power on the bench too.
Tierney is outstanding.
Gotta love Odegaard – sign him permanently! #AFC— Gunners (@Gunnersc0m) March 14, 2021

Arteta should sign Martin Odegaard permanently. Playing the kind of football Chelsea wish Kai Harvertz could play. What a player !
