Liverpool owners still ‘steadfastly behind’ Jurgen Klopp

Liverpool declining

To say that Liverpool’s Premier League title defence has been a complete shambles would be putting it lightly.

The Reds have of course been extremely hard done by on the injury front this season.

All of Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino, Diogo Jota, Jordan Henderson, Fabinho, Naby Keita, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Thiago, James Milner, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Ben Davies, Rhys Williams, Ozan Kabak, Virgil van Dijk, Joel Matip and Alisson have missed at least one game due to injury or Covid-19.

And whilst this is obviously a nightmare scenario for any manager to deal with, Liverpool’s fans could never have envisioned just how poor their side would go on to look over recent weeks.

Jurgen Klopp’s job safe

The Merseysiders lost 1-0 to Fulham on Sunday afternoon.

That defeat marked Liverpool’s 6th-straight at Anfield, which is the most they have ever suffered in a row at the ground.

It also means that Jurgen Klopp’s men have slipped down to 8th in the Premier League table, with 9th-placed Aston Villa only three points behind with two games in hand.

So, with the Reds looking unlikely to  even clinch a Europa League berth as things stand, some fans may be questioning whether Jurgen Klopp’s job is still actually safe.

James Pearce of The Athletic, though, on Monday, has moved to provide an update on Klopp’s future.

As per Pearce, the German’s position isn’t up for debate, with FSG remaining ‘steadfastly behind’ their manager.

It is added that Klopp has more than enough credit in the bank to ride out whatever happens over the final few months of the season:
