Amid mounting speculation that Hector Bellerin could be on the move this summer, Arsenal’s interest in Brighton & Hove Albion star Tariq Lamptey has been confirmed.
PSG bound?
Questions surrounding the future of long-time Gunners star Bellerin have taken centre stage in the media over the last couple of weeks.
They comes on the back of a report, somewhat out of the blue, suggesting that the Spaniard could finally be on his way out of north London this summer.
As per the reliable reliable James Benge, citing sources close to the player, Bellerin is ‘ready to part ways’ with Arsenal, in search of a new challenge.
French champions PSG – who also expressed an interest in the stopper last summer – in turn, are said to be ready to reignite their pursuit of his services.
Also named as keen on Bellerin were Barcelona, and a pair of clubs in Serie A.

‘Looking at him’
As such, if, when all is said and done, Arsenal do indeed opt to move forward without their Spanish international star, reinforcements will be required.
Bellerin, despite his flaws, has remained the first-choice right-back in Mikel Arteta’s squad this season, notching starts in all but four of the club’s 26 Premier League fixtures.

And, as outlined above, over the last 24 hours, an insight into one of the Gunners’ key targets to replace the stopper has been forthcoming.
The news comes courtesy of transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.
Speaking on the ‘Here We Go’ podcast, the Italian was drawn on Arsenal’s summer plans for the club’s right-back spot, with Romano having gone on to highlight Brighton’s Tariq Lamptey as a potential arrival at the Emirates.
Though the board in north London are yet to step up their interest in the former Chelsea man, it is claimed that Lamptey is indeed ‘on the list’, with a decision regarding a potential offer set to be made over the months ahead:
‘For sure, next summer, can happen something big for him. Arsenal are looking at him as possible option at right-back. Keep an eye on Arsenal because they are among the clubs interested in Lamptey.’
‘There is still nothing advanced, there is still nothing signed. Nothing serious yet, but they’re looking at him, he’s on the list, he’s considered an interesting player, so Arsenal will decide the future in the coming months.’
