David Moyes provides West Ham team news update ahead of Manchester City

David Moyes has, on Friday, provided a team news update on his side ahead of their meeting with Manchester City.

Manchester City vs West Ham

Saturday’s early Premier League kick-off sees West Ham make the trip to the Etihad to face Man City.

The Hammers head into the tie on a fine run of form.

Their last outing saw them get one over on London rivals, Tottenham, coming away with a 2-1 win.

Said win saw West Ham climb up to an impressive 4th in the Premier League table.

Things are still very tight when it comes to securing a Champions League place, though, with all of Chelsea, Liverpool and Everton still well in the hunt for that 4th spot.

As a result, West Ham could do without losing this weekend, which is easier said than done against this City side at present.

West Ham injury update

Ahead of Saturday’s game, David Moyes held his latest pre-match press conference on Friday.

During the presser, the Scotsman discussed a number of topics, including team news.

And for the most part, West Ham the majority of their key players available, with Andriy Yarmolenko and possibly Ryan Fredricks the only regular features potentially out:

“No, at the moment we seem okay. We’ve still got Arthur Masuaku coming back and Yarmolenko has a medial ligament injury. Fredericks picked up a groin injury which is not serious – it’s touch and go, so we’ll have to see how he is after training today.”

Moyes was also full of praise for Jesse Lingard during his pre-City presser:

“We’re really pleased to have him because he’s given us another dimension. He’s given us a bit of quality. I always thought we were going to need someone to give us something else in the second half of the season. Jesse’s come in and make an impact with his goals and his performances.”
