Chelsea vs Man United

The weekend’s marquee Premier League fixture will play out on Sunday afternoon.

Manchester United are set to travel to Stamford Bridge for a 4:30 PM kick-off.

The tie could have huge implications on who secures a Champions League berth this season.

Chelsea entered the weekend down in 5th place. However, the Blues are in fine form, and currently sit just six points adrift of 2nd-placed United.

So, a win on Sunday would of course provide a major boost to the hosts’ hopes of clinching a top-4 berth. A victory for the Red Devils, on the other hand, would all but kill off Chelsea’s chances of catching them.

Tuchel sent to a dark place by Man United

Ahead of tomorrow’s tie, meanwhile, Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel has opened up on how Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s Man United sent him to a ‘very dark place’.

United faced off with Tuchel’s PSG in the last-16 of the Champions League in 2019.

The Manchester outfit lost the opener 2-0, but completed a spectacular comeback at the Parc des Princes in the second leg to knock the Parisians out of the competition.

And now, Tuchel has opened up on how he felt following the game:

“I can be very honest after that match I was two days in a very dark place and I can tell you I was not able to speak to anybody and to think about anything else [other] than this defeat,” Tuchel told reporters ahead of Sunday’s clash.

“That was maybe the worst defeat that I experienced because it came from nowhere. In the circumstances that it arrived, I was for two days in a dark place for a coach to be at.

“There is no way you can compare these two games with each other. I told you how I felt after this defeat in the Champions League. We all know that defeats are hard to digest.  Am I a good loser? So so. Maybe not so much, but show me a good loser on this level.

“I would love to turn it around. We love the competition and we love to win and we love a good fight for it, and this is what we will hopefully get on Sunday.”
