Leicester City boss Brendan Rodgers has provided a fitness update on Ricardo Pereira, on the back of his side’s downing of Sheffield United.
Iheanacho at the treble
The Foxes were of course back in Premier League action a short time ago.
Rodgers and co. welcomed a Sheffield United side in turmoil to the King Power Stadium, aiming to further solidify their spot in the top-4.
And, when all was said and done, this is precisely what Leicester managed, in some style.
An utterly dominant display eventually saw the home side emerge on the right side of a 5-0 scoreline, to move a full 8 points clear of 5th-placed West Ham.
Kelechi Iheanacho proved the star of the show, bagging an impressive hat-trick, en route to the Man of the Match award.
Ayoze Perez was also on target, with Jamie Vardy’s deflected effort off Ethan Ampadu having rounded out the afternoon’s scoring 10 minutes from time.
Kelechi Iheanacho’s first Premier League hat-trick helped Leicester to a 5-0 thrashing of Sheffield United to consolidate their place in the top four.

Pereira latest
As outlined above, however, an otherwise fine day’s work for Leicester was soured to at least some degree by a blow on the personnel front.
This came when Ricardo Pereira was forced off at the interval, to be replaced by Marc Albrighton.
In turn, speaking during his post-match press conference, it came as little surprise when Brendan Rodgers was drawn on the wellbeing of his talented full-back.
And the Foxes boss went on to reveal that Pereira was hooked as a precaution, amid ‘tightness’ in his hamstring:
💬 Rodgers: “Ricardo felt a tightness in his hamstring. It didn’t go away but he felt it that little bit tighter so there was no need for us to take the risk. We needed to bring him off.” #LCFC
