Erling Haaland

Response to agent comments

Following Elring Haaland’s agent Mino Raiola’s conversation with the BBC, in which he said 10 clubs including four from England are interested in the Norwegian international, Borussia Dortmund’s Sporting Director Michael Zorc has responded to the comments.

Zorc, according to the report in AS ,stressed that Dortmund is the best place for him for now and that he has now bad feelings towards his agent for the comments.

He insists the club are happy for him to stay saying:

“We are happy to have Erling here and happy that he has been scoring more in recent matches and has proved his worth for us.

He still has a contract until 2024. I can only say that we continue to have him in our plans. I also believe that he doesn’t feel uncomfortable here in Dortmund, on the contrary.”

Story to rumble on

The will he won’t he stay or go rumours are no doubt set to continue all summer. The player has a release clause in his contract for £65 million but not until the end of the 2021-22 season.

However, that won’t stop all of Europe’s super clubs checking under the sofa to see if they can find the money to prize him away this summer.

The four English clubs mentioned, presumably Manchester City, Manchester United, Chelsea and Liverpool have all been linked to the striking sensation and just yesterday Ole Gunnar Solskjaer discussed him during his Europa League press conference.

The player’s potential is such that adding him could be the difference to the next decade of a club’s fortunes. Manchester City may be looking for a replacement for Sergio Aguero and have played this season without a recognsied striker at times but Chelsea will also be looking to add further firepower.

When and if offers come in, we shall all see the resolve Dortmund have to keep their man.
