Arsenal-linked Patson Daka allowed to leave Salzburg in summer

An update on the future of Premier League-linked hitman Patson Daka has been forthcoming online recently.

Daka’s RB Salzburg stint

Patson Daka joined Austrian outfit RB Salzburg in 2017, departing Zambian side Kafue Celtic FC.

Daka has since proven a solid player for Salzburg, but recent years had of course seen the spotlight largely hogged by Erling Haaland.

However, since Haaland’s departure for Borussia Dortmund, Daka has done a fine job of filling the Norwegian’s boots.

In 29  league outings this season, for example, the Zambian international has scored 25  goals, as well as providing eight assists.

Daka also racked up an impressive 27 goals and 12 assists in 45 outings across all competitions during the 2019/20 campaign.

Such fine form, in turn, has inevitably seen Daka linked with a number of top clubs over the last year or so, including Arsenal,  Liverpool and West Ham United.

Now, said trio, along with any other potentially interested parties, have been handed a boost on the Daka transfer front.

According to Goal, citing Austrian outlet Salzburger Nachrichten,  Arsenal and West Ham have been offered hope in their reported pursuit of  Daka as the forward will be allowed to leave RB in the summer transfer window.

The report from the Austrian-based newspaper claims that Salzburg will collect at least €20m for Daka, whilst the above-linked report from Football365 stated that West Ham had been offered the chance to sign Daka for £25m.

So, it does seem as though any side eyeing Daka will not have to pay out too much to land him.
