Four people have been killed by gunmen who also abducted 50 others in Goran Namaye town in Maradun Local Government Area of Zamfara.
The state police command which confirmed the attack on Monday, August 23, stated that the attackers invaded the town around midnight on Sunday August 22, in large numbers.
Zamfara state police Public Relations Officer, SP Muhammad Shehu added that the police tactical operatives had been deployed to the area.
Meanwhile, the state commissioner of police, Yakubu Elkana has ordered immediate search and rescue operations for the victims.
He urged residents of the state to be calm as there is an ongoing effort to bring the kidnappers to justice.
