Grammy-nominated Ghanaian reggae artiste, Rocky Dawuni has been announced as the headliner for the Music Haven 2023 Festival, taking place in Schenectady, New York, from July 8 to 14.
Renowned for his unique fusion of reggae, Afrobeat, highlife, and soul music, Dawuni will grace the stage on July 9 in Schenectady.
The festival promises a diverse lineup, featuring artists from various corners of the globe, including Ghana, Andalusia, Ireland, Texas, Gambia, Louisiana, South Asia, Georgia, and Stratford-upon-Avon, England.
Beyond his musical talents, Dawuni has also been actively involved in promoting social justice and environmental sustainability. As a goodwill ambassador for the UN, he has collaborated with numerous organizations in these efforts.
Expressing her excitement about the upcoming festival, Mona Golub, the Producing Artistic Director, remarked, “This summer, our musical journeys will cross seven distinct bodies of water.
We’ll gather to hear spectacular global artists who have not played these parts before, welcome back some old friends who have dazzled the world since they last graced our stage, and showcase, as special guests, some of the finest talents our region has to offer.”
